The purpose of the present study is expounding the concepts of conscious, pre-conscious and unconscious from the viewpoint of the psycho-analysists and comparing it with the views of Allameh Tabatabaei. To this end the author checked reliable resources regarding psycho-analysis approach and the works of Allameh Tabatabaei. Then the views were analyzed and compared using a descriptive-analytic method. The findings show that psycho-analysis believe that there are there stages of unconscious, pre-conscious and conscious for the mind and most of the psychological processes are done unconsciously. Allameh Tabatabaei believes that consciousness means science to science, pre-consciousness means forgetfulness and unconsciousness refers to the processes that lead to science to science. He believes that some of man`s understandings and activities are done with science to science, that can be called unconscious, however Allameh`s view is more compatible with the cognitive approach in unconscious not psycho-analysis. There are some similarities and some differences between old pattern of God in Young`s view and theology and natural God-seeking in Allameh`s view. In general, Allameh Tabatabei believes that unconsciousness means not knowing the science or neglecting the cognition.
