    Abstract:
The institution of the family in the present era faces challenges such as emotional instability and a crisis of meaning, rooted in the weakness of emotion regulation strategies. In this context, the concept of chastity (ʿiffah) in Islamic texts possesses profound psychological capacities for achieving spiritual well-being, which have largely remained overlooked. The aim of this research is to reinterpret chastity beyond the mere notion of covering, as an advanced emotion regulation strategy, and to present a model that explains how it contributes to the attainment of spiritual well-being within the family. This study was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method with an interpretive approach based on hermeneutics. The findings revealed that chastity is a multidimensional construct that activates psychological mediating mechanisms (such as increased trust and intimacy) through cognitive (e.g., spiritual reinterpretation), behavioral (situational control), and emotional-volitional dimensions. This process ultimately leads to the realization and constructing of a five-dimensional spiritual family—comprising beliefs, activities, responsibility, care, and spiritual atmosphere—which embodies the three pillars of well-being: sakīnah (serenity), mawaddah (affection), and raḥmah (compassion). This process model demonstrates how an Islamic virtue can serve as a spiritual-psychological technology to promote and strengthen the foundation of the family.
