This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the psychological components of tranquility based on verses and narrations and developing an initial scale. Content analysis method was used to study the verses and narrations and survey method was used to evaluate the validity and reliability of the scale. After extracting the components of tranquility, appropriate items were designed and the scale was developed based on experts’ opinions. A sample of 74 seminary students in Hamadan was selected using the convenience sampling method. The following results were obtained after analyzing the findings through statistical methods: 1) According to the experts in religion and psychology, the content validity (CVI) of 12 of the components is higher than 0.6 and only one component had a low CVI (0.5). The items whose CVI was higher than 0.6 were included in the scale. 2) All components, except "tendency to accept the truth" had a significant correlation with the whole scale, which indicated the validity of the construct. 3) The reliability of the scale was obtained after examining the internal consistency of the scale through Cronbach's alpha coefficient at the level of 0.881. 4) Internal consistency was obtained based on Guttman and Spearman-Brown's split-half coefficient ( 0.831) and correlation of the two halves of the test was 0.711. Therefore, the scale has good reliability and validity.
