Presenting a plan of the structure of the human soul, Ayatullah Misbah Yazdi has explained the position of spiritual states among other aspects of his existence. The present descriptive-analytical research aims to substantiate his theory by relying on the Qur'anic evidence. Data collection was done through library method and the thematic interpretation of the Qur'an. Research shows that in his view spiritual states affects the human soul, not his body; of course, not in the sense that it is one of the three dimensions of the soul along with knowledge, love and power, but it is one of the sub-dimensions of love and is in a more superficial layer. According to the precise Qur'anic statements about the inner states of man, we can infer some characteristics from which a clear boundary between spiritual states and other connected aspects of his existence is determined. These characteristics include being sensual, being temporary, being reactive, being temporary, being visible, being based on genuine desires, and being effective in the motivation process.
