The Psychological Mechanisms of Internalizing Moral Values

Abstract:
Apart from the quantitative peculiarities, the present study seeks to deal with not only the analysis of the content but also the mechanisms of internalizing moral values in main psychological approaches. The psychoanalytical approach considers this process as something originated in social pressures for doing the actions which are socially accepted and takes identification and formation of super-ego or the motivation to avoid losing parents’ love as the main mechanism. According to socio-cognitive approach, moral norms are essentially considered to be an external and social phenomenon and among individuals’ actions through such experimental processes as punishment, self-organization, and sympathetic feeling. From the cognitive-developmental viewpoint, moral values is a system of argument in perceiving social relations. The main mechanisms of the very process comprises cognitive conflict, assimilation and accomndation, adaptation and equilibration. The cognitive-emotive approach explains the moral internalization as a change through regulatory techniques, cognitive processing, and individual’s efficient motivation. Although all approaches put emphasis on the interactions of crucial internal and environmental determinants, the extent to which they participate in the process of internalization is different. The psychoanalytical and cognitive-social approaches consider the role of socio-external phenomena more effective and cognitive-developmental and cognitive-emotive approaches give more importance to the internal determinants.

Abstract:
پژوهش حاضر به شیوۀ تحلیل محتوا و با صرف نظر از ویژگی کمّی آن، به بررسی سازوکارهای فرایند درونی سازی اخلاقی در رویکردهای روان شناختی عمده می پردازد. رویکرد روان تحلیل گری، مبدء این فرایند را فشارهای اجتماعی برای مبادرت به اعمال مورد پذیرش جامعه می داند و همانندسازی و تکوین فرامن، با انگیزۀ پرهیز از از دست دادن عشق والدین را سازوکارهای اصلی می داند. بر حسب رویکرد شناختی- اجتماعی، هنجارهای اخلاقی در اصل پدیده ای بیرونی و اجتماعی بوده و از طریق فرایندهای تجربۀ تنبیه، الگوبرداری، تقویت خود، خود نظم دهی و احساس همدلی در خزانۀ رفتاری فرد جای می گیرند. از دیدگاه شناختی- تحوّلی، ارزش های اخلاقی یک نظام استدلال در درک روابط اجتماعی می باشند. سازوکارهای اساسی این فرایند را تعارض شناختی، کنش های مکمّل جذب و انطباق و در نهایت، تعادل جویی تشکیل می دهند. رویکرد شناختی- عاطفی، تحوّل درونی سازی اخلاقی را از خلال فنون نظم دهی، پردازش های شناختی و سطح بسندۀ انگیزش فرد صورت تبیین می کند. هر چند همۀ رویکردها بر تعامل تعیین کننده های درونی و محیطی تأکید می ورزند، امّا میزان مشارکت آنها در درونی سازی متفاوت است. رویکردهای روان تحلیل گری و شناختی- اجتماعی، نقش پدیده های اجتماعی ـ برونی را مؤثرتر می دانند و دیدگاه های شناختی- تحوّلی و شناختی- عاطفی بر تعیین کننده های درونی، تأکید بیشتری دارند.
