Abstract:
The present paper studies the relationship between spiritual intelligence and subjective well-being. To this end, 377 University and Seminary students answered a self-rating questionnaire on spiritual intelligence, subjective happiness scale, and contentment in life scale. Such statistical indexes and methods like mean, standard deviation, t-test, Pearson correlation, and regression were used to analyze the data. The research findings show that the relationship of spiritual intelligence and the two aspects of subjective well-being (i.e. happiness and life satisfaction) is positive, the creation of personal significance is the strongest correlate and best predictor of subjective well-being, the degree of Women's contentment in life is higher than that of men and the Seminary students' spiritual intelligence is higher than that of university students. The findings indicate that the mental abilities associated to religiosity and spirituality, particularly the case of creation of personal significance, have positive role in subjective well-being. Also, the differences between men and women, and seminary students and university students have been discussed.
