    Abstract:
The present paper seeks to study the role of self-knowledge processes and big five personality traits in moral virtues. 315 university students completed following questionnaires: international personality item pool questionnaire, questionnaire of five big traits, short scale of self-control, the scale of integrative self-knowledge and questionnaire of moral virtues. The research findings show that virtues have positive correlation with big five personality traits (extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness to experience) self-control and integrative self-knowledge. Agreeableness and integrative self-knowledge are the strongest and conscientiousness is the weakest correlates of virtues. Furthermore, the intermediary role of integrative self-knowledge in the relationship between personality and virtues is proven but intermediate role of self-control is not proven. The research shows that the relationship between some personality traits and moral virtues are stronger than that of other personality traits. The research findings supports the idea that self-knowledge has intermediary role between personality and moral virtues.
