This study aimed to identify and classify moral virtues based on Allameh Misbah-Yazdi's perspective and compare it with Martin Seligman's approach in positive psychology. Data were collected and analyzed using a mixed-method (qualitative-quantitative) approach. In the qualitative phase, 54 attributes were identified through content analysis of Allameh Misbah-Yazdi's works. After validating these attributes using the CVI index with nine experts, 40 attributes were confirmed and classified into three domains: divine, individual, and social ethics. The findings revealed that both perspectives emphasize the importance of moral virtues in enhancing the psychological well-being of individuals and society, yet they exhibit fundamental differences. Allameh Misbah's theocentric perspective defines virtues in relation to divine perfection and servitude, whereas Seligman's human-centered approach views virtues as independent strengths contributing to material well-being. This difference results in the absence of certain virtues, such as sincerity, trust in God, and asceticism, in Seligman's framework and differences in defining parallel virtues. The study underscores the necessity of designing moral education based on Islamic culture to establish effective models for cultivating ethics.
