    Abstract

The purpose of this study is analyzing the effectiveness of meta-cognition therapy with an Islamic approach in treating the people with post-traumatic tenseness (caused by car accident). To do this, a single-case experimental design with multiple baselines and a follow up were used. Three people were chosen by the method of purposive sampling. 3 to5 weeks baseline were considered for each of the participants. Using the revised scale of impact of the event (IES-R), depression questionnaire (BDI-II) and anxiety questionnaire (BAI) in the baseline, treatment sessions and two months after the end of the treatment (follow-up), the analysis was done. The findings show that all three references showed a significant reduction in the score rates of the symptoms of post-traumatic tenseness, depression and anxiety. Consequently, it is understood that the meta-cognitive therapy with an Islamic approach is an effective short term therapy to reduce the symptoms of post-traumatic tenseness.

Keywords: meta-cognitive therapy with an Islamic approach, post-traumatic tenseness, depression, anxiety.

    Abstract

The present paper aims at explaining the differences of human`s behavior in the realm of Islamic paradigm in comparison with other psychological approaches. To this end, Islamic sources, such as holy Quran and narrations as well as psychological approaches were analyzed. Using a descriptive -analytic method, the preliminary findings were analyzed. The findings show that psychologists want to discover the rules that govern mental organizations. However each psychologist dealt with human`s behavior by ontological, anthropological, axiological, epistemological and methodological assumptions. Due to this, the followers of different paradigms, even the people of the paradigm have some conflicting views on a certain topic. This indicates the fact that scientific statements of the psychologists are paradigmatic. The compliance with the psychological statements or the psychologists` finding about the subject is in relationship with the compliance with paradigmatic components. Explaining human`s behavior within the framework of Islamic behavior can: 1. Be different with the psychological findings, 2. Psychological findings in the framework of Islamic paradigm have more validity. Because this paradigm is based on revealed sources.

Key words: human`s behavior, Islamic paradigm, Islamic psychology.

Based on the findings, we can define spiritual identity as a conscious and unconscious relation with the world based on cognitive cores of spirituality that creates a dynamic selection of moral –valued behavior, purposeful life and commitment to religious traditions.

The sampling method was purposeful and sample size was 24 patients, of whom 12 women were seeking divorce and 12 women were not.

The results of study showed that women seeking divorce were scored lower in satisfaction of sexual and basic needs in tranquility dimension, verbal and non-verbal expressions of love in amity dimension, and cooperation, participation and forgiveness in mercy dimension than women who were not seeking divorce.
