Abstract:
Marital forgiveness is one of the key components in the stability and health of couples' relationships. The present study aimed to develop a Quran-based conceptual model of the forgiveness process in marital interactions. This study was conducted with a qualitative approach and the method of content analysis. The unit of analysis included verses of the Holy Quran and interpretive and narrative statements related to the concepts of "forgiveness", "forgiveness", "forgiveness" and "kindness" in the context of couples' relationships. The data were collected through purposeful sampling from Quranic and interpretive texts and then analyzed through three stages of open, axial and selective coding. In this process, the extracted concepts were first organized at the level of primary themes and then integrated into the form of macro-conceptual categories and dimensions. The findings led to the extraction of five main dimensions in the conceptual model: (1) structural components of the forgiveness process, (2) spiritual and moral preconditions, (3) factors that reveal and initiate forgiveness, (4) cognitive and emotional barriers to interaction, and (5) individual and relational consequences. These dimensions indicate that forgiveness in Quranic teachings is not an immediate emotional reaction, but a staged process that begins with a conscious recognition of the right and leads to the restoration and quality of marital interaction.
