Abstract:
The aim of the present research is to identify the structural modeling of the Iranian-Islamic family functioning. The research method is "quantitative" of the "survey, correlation and modeling" type. For modeling, first, based on the process and theoretical model of Iranian-Islamic family functioning dimensions, the questionnaire items were designed. Then, for investigating construct validity and reliability, the questionnaires were distributed among 300 students of higher education and counseling centers in Isfahan city using the "multi-stage" sampling method. The collected data were analyzed by "Amos" software with the help of confirmatory factor analysis and fit indices. The findings of the confirmatory factor analysis and its fit indices indicated the representativeness and desirability of the four-factor model of the Iranian-Islamic family functioning questionnaire. These four factors included respectful behaviors and emotional connections, role playing, respect for boundaries, and spiritual-religious values. Also, the results of path analysis in structural modeling of family functioning showed that the function of religious-spiritual values has a positive effect on other functions, i.e., it can regulate other functions. The reliability coefficient for all subscales and the whole test was higher than 0.90, which indicates the reliability and internal consistency of the test. Therefore, the results of this research showed that the Iranian-Islamic family has four main functions, and the function of "spiritual-religious values" is considered as a regulator for other functions.
