Abstract:
The Qura’nic-psychological studies have a long history in interdisciplinary research. On the one hand, the biography of divine prophets is of special importance for the introduction of divine models in the Quran, and on the other hand, the identification of personality types is important in psychological studies. In MBTI model designed by Myers and Briggs, two American ladies who expanded Jung's thoughts, the various dimensions of each person's personality in four dual preferences are examined and a total of sixteen distinct personality types are investigated. Using the descriptive-analytical method, the present research aims to investigate the personality type of the Prophet Yusuf based on the data available in the verses of the Qur'an. To achieve this goal, after introducing various preferences in this model, the Qur'anic evidence of the Prophet Yusuf's personality was examined and finally, his personality type was discovered. Since the Qur'anic data may not cover all aspects of his personality, the error coefficient must be considered in this research.
