Abstract:
This research was aimed at developing a conceptual model of "self-awareness" based on Islamic sources (Qur'an and Hadith). For extracting the components of self-awareness from Islamic texts and explaining its structure, "content analysis" was used in the framework of modeling the psychological concepts and constructs from Islamic texts, and for examining the reliability and validity of the content of the components of self-awareness, "survey" method of "Delphi" type was used. The results of the research findings showed that the conceptual construct of "self-awareness based on Islamic sources" is based on seven components (self-knowledge, self-attention, self-reflection, God-awareness, self- consciousness, purposeful activity, and self-monitoring) and each of the components is related to the other ones. The results of studying the relationships between the components showed that the conceptual model of self-awareness in the form of a process begins with self-knowledge and self-reflection and follows the path of self-attention, self-consciousness, God-awareness, purposeful activity and self-monitoring, which leads to complete self-awareness.
