Abstract:
Work environment is one of the factors affecting human health. This research examines the relationship between spirituality in the work environment and occupational stress of hospital employees with the mediating role of psychological capital. The research method is applied in terms of purpose, and is has specifically been based on modeling structural equations using Amos software. The statistical population included all the employees of one of the charity hospitals in Qom city. More than 138 employees of the hospital were selected using the "stratified sampling" method. The main instruments for data collection are standard questionnaires. The research findings indicate the direct and indirect negative and significant relationship between spirituality in the work environment and the job stress of employees, the positive and significant relationship between spirituality in the work environment and the psychological capital of employees, and the negative and significant relationship between psychological capital and the job stress of employees. Based on the research findings, spirituality in the work environment provides support for the individuals, indirectly influences hope, optimism, resilience and self-efficacy, and leads to more psychological adaptation and less stress. Therefore, promotion of virtues such as worship, modesty, respect for elders, kindness, zeal, generosity and the like increase spirituality in the work environment.
